That's just an empty Moser axle box ,they are installed with a Detroit Trutrac diff.I should have removed the blanket to show the whole chassis, here is the back end (temp diff cover) with Camaro brakes and C6 Z06 18" wheels and 295 F1 GS-D3 tires

I did all the paint myself using a local company's epoxy primer and polyurathane top coat called Endura,it is the same paint that Catapilar uses on their trucks and machines, almost equal to powder coat.To prep the metal you just sand blast it then prime it ,then wait 30min and start top coating.
The red is GM Garnet Red, #57 I think ?

Looks nice. If your doing all that, you should paint the hubs. They will rust fast.

I dont mean to be the bad guy here but does that look pink / fuscia to anyone else?

Maybe its the flash. Calipers look red but the other pieces look like the color of cotton candy.

Maybe im aahhhhhtrippin

Real men paint their suspension pieces pink. :D

Looks "maroon" in the 1st picture that the camera didn't flash. :)

Jamie - hurry up and get that thing together! I want to see some road grime on that goregous chassis!
I was hit by a car on my bike a 3 months ago and broke a bunch of bones (and teeth),and that kind of put a damper on progress.
I am just now able to pull wrenches and I just assembled the front suspension the other day.
I have all the parts for the 496 short block and will get that stuff to the engine builder as soon as I can find 2 people to lift the block off the ground.
Did you ever get the e-brake worked out ?

Jamie - I'm so sorry - I hope you know I was just busting chops. I'm glad to hear your back on your feet.

The e-brake was solved a while back - I just sectioned the lever and welded it back together. Cut down the F body cables and used them in place of the stock ones....it work's great. I did struggle with MCs though - I'm on my third one (down to 1" bore) and I'm still not happy with the line pressure. It stops better than it ever has, but it's still not right. The C5 style calipers really need a 3/4 or 7/8" bore. Anything larger and you need to increase the mechanical leverage somehow, bigger leg muscles, hydro, or move the booster pin up on the pedal.....

I bought the Lokar kit with the explorer end clips. The only problem I had was trying to take off or put the clips on since the diff was in the way.
