I have a BB402, Holley 3310 carb, in a 72 Malibu with a TH350 behind it. I just installed the throttle cable bracket, and it didn't fit like it was supposed to, so I added a small "extension" piece between it and the carb. My next task is the kickdown linkage, seen laying loose in the photo.
On top of the cab is the throttle bracket from the 307 that was in it.

So, should the kickdown do through the "other hole" in the bracket?
It needs to be pulled forward, right? How much is "forward", the last 1/4% of full throttle?

Any pictues would be great!!

It need's to be connected low on the carb. so when you step into it, it pulls on the kickdown cable. looks like you need a different bracket on you intake to hold the kickdown cable.

Good Luck

What I bought was this:

http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?pid=WQ43&c=0&e=0&cat=0&hid=014AA48338&trk=

Because I read it on the internet here:
http://www.carcraft.com/projectbuild/116_9902_502_big_block_chevy_chevelle_engine_swap/photo_19.html

But intead of getting the OPG part seen here:
http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.m...re_Code=chevellecamino&Product_Code=ADT-0014&Category_Code=ENGINEDETAILINGACCEL

I used my gift certificate at Year one to buy it.

I shouldn't even have bothered, I ran the red car with no bracket at all for 6+ years.
I wonder if I can shift the 2-3 on my own and it hold as long as I want it to? :)

Perhaps the 307 Malibu had a shorter throttle cable than all other models and that is my problem?

that magazine pic is funny, shows them attaching the throttle cable to a loose bolt hanging off the throttle lever where the kickdown cable goes. Classic magazine deal.

holy cow, that pic is huge.

or try this, this is what I have and am used to seeing. goes on the two back bolts of the manifold.

I never did like those ones that hang off one carb bolt.

that pic that I linked to at Holley is misleading, it's reversed or upside down. It's thick so watch out for the bolts being short especially if you have aluminum heads.

drain fluid from pan, remove linkage, go to napa get a 7/16" freeze plug and place in the whole. You really don"t need the kick down by the time it takes the tranny to shift you could have already shifted. I plugged mine I couldn't find a bracket. I love it, you just have to down shift your self

here's a couple pics of my daily driver, it's got an 800CFM Q-jet on a Performer RPM Q-jet manifold. I think the throttle is the stock one off a 307 2bbl. the kickdown cable is actually a TV cable for a 200R4, but it's very similar.
