well even though im only in my early 30s ive always want a nostalgic done drag car, i think they were just the coolest things in the 60s with the names on the sides and the odd paint schemes. even though im a buick lover at heart, and was really thinking about doing a early to mid 60s skylark or special with a bbb in it, i just happened to get a rolling bodied 67 malibu. its a very solid car, but its missing all of its guts. no interior of any sort or engine. it has all the body panels, glass and already has a 12 bolt rear end in it. im thinking this would be a dam easy car to make my creation out of. i have some sbc's laying around i could use even though a big block would be cooler. i would love to here some of the guys who were around in those days suggestions. im kinda thinkin old school tunnel ram, maybe a 4speed, old school torq d wheels or maybe dog dishs of soarts, 6 or 8 pt cage, not sure what they did for seats back then weather they used racing seats or what. any input is welcome.

Dan there was a post a few months back of a 66 or 67 I have forgotten now that was recently bought in PA. I believe it was originally posted in bench racing section and it was a way cool vintage hot rod....Hopefully you can find it and check it out for idea's, it had been stored for many years.....Good Luck
All black with aluminum slots,old school snorkel hoodscoop,ladder bars and an aluminum headed 496 with a TM2 "twisted" intake..maybe some 4.10's and 4 speed for sure..

That would be a lot of fun, be totally obnoxious, and not be something you see everyday.:thumbsup:

Thought for sure I was going to see a "lace" paint job!
One of those 1.50 plastic lace table cloths was good for about 3 cars depending on how you had to trim it!

thanks guys, definatly starting me off with some good ideas. im really starting to lean towards the 4spd idea. i dont know that im gonna lace my car though. not sure power plant wise though, its tough when i have a bunch of small blocks sitting around to not use one of them and find a bb. all though, like mr 4 speed says, a 496 would be nice.:beers:

im loving the dual quad thing, but i dont know if i can do the gasser straight axle thing.im thinkin its gonna end up with one of those monochrome solid flat color paint jobs, or crazy flakes, or some combo of both lol. i was informed today i better make sure even if i put racing seats in it there better be 2 or my girlfriends protesting the project lol.im screwed because she actually drives stick better then i do so making it a 4 speed isnt keeping her out of the drivers seat. stupid question but doesn anyone know if its legal to drive a car with no hood on it on the street?

That's the car I bought in PA in November last year.
As an update, my wife and I are leaving Saturday to get it and bring it to TX. It'll be here after next weekend.
