Went by and visited the Camino yesterday,, it's no longer 'primer prison'. A couple of weeks ago the body man said he was sick of looking at / working on it,, he wanted it DONE by the end of the month. Held good to his word!!! Cutting and polishing the clearcoat the rest of this week,, she is about to come home to start the re-assembly!!
WoooootHooooo I'm Sooooo pumped :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

Great News Marv.....time to clean the garage before you bring her home.

Oh man you don't even know the 1/2 of it!!! Sheared the ARP 1/2" lug bolts off the drivers side slick at the last race. Had JUST started pulling Camino parts and boxes off the shelves when... Everything get's pushed to the side to work on the broken race car. All of the mechanical damage fixed, just have to get the new wheels under the car so I can take it and driop it off at the body shop to repair the quarter panel damage. It's a never ending payment to the body shop!!!!!

This paint is simply AMAZING
Put bright sunlight on it and it's candy metalic, put inside fouprecent light on it and it POPS your eyes out, take the intense light away and it's a nice deep Medera Maroon ;)

Color is off a new Mopars

I couldn't resist this shot. Check out the PERFECT body panels that show the reflection of the SuperBird Harry's resurrecting. And this thing hasn't even been buffed yet!

 I dig that color! It was on my list of choices when mine was painted last year, and everytime I see a Dodge magnum drive by painted that color I always take a second to wonder if i should have picked it afterall!

Very nice!

Thanks guys. This was a project my dad started in the 80's and it outlived him. I was starting to wonder if it was going to outlive me too! I know the old man wanted something akin to a clone of the 67 Camino he owned in the late 60's. I may have only been 13 then but I remember that Medera Maroon shining like a diamond in a goats @$$ when the sun hit it. Well this color takes that to a new height ;) Maybe high enough for the old man to see it, (assuming he's looking down that is ;) ) It may not be the car he had in mind, but it will surely be 'something' when it's done.

MarvD, If you could can you get me the paint code too? Great color!!! Congrads...

Spent the last two days getting CRAP out of the shop and getting the Camino home. I forgot to ask Harry about the paint code, but I'll get it, and some new pic's up soon. What I can tell you is it's the pearl, metalic maroon on the 2007 Chrysler 300's. Code to follow soon, promise!

Set just a few of the chrome pieces on the car last night under the flourecent lighting in the shop... all I can say is WOW. A color as bright as that (in the bright direct light) needs something like all the chrome on a 67 to pull your eye away from the bright spots the lighting creates ,, gona be SWEET!

One thing for SURE,,,, you better have PERFECT body work under this color or it's look like doggie dooo-doo. I left the firewall exactly as it was from the factory (the 67's have a lot of dimples in the firewall for some reason, and sheet metal wrinkles at the beginning of the trans tunnel) Any imperfection REALLY shows up BAD because of the way this paint reflects light.
