I'm working on an engine which has the CNC'd Roval Intake port and am less than impressed with the CNC'd intake portion of the head. The intake port is like the port on the chevy 502 h.p. 502ci engine. I called edelbrock tech and asked which intake gasket to use and the tech guy spec's the 7203 gasket. That particular gasket is no different in shape than a normal large ovel port gasket and sure as heck does not fit the port on the head. Chevy make's a gasket, pn 12366985 for the 502 and is a perfect fit but is extremely pricey. Anyone else run across this mismatch?

the 7203 gasket might work just fine. did you lay it on the head and manifold to see if there would be vacuum leaks?
there's nothing that sez the holes in the gasket can't be bigger then the ports, but smaller is frowned on.

Thge problem is that the Edelbrock 7203 is ovel and the port on the head is roval. It is a mismatch. I'd think they would have made a gasket to fit their own design.

Thats why I run the GMPP version of the Performer RPM, it matches the heads. My Eddie Performer RPM is sitting under the bench, I took it off after changing out my 781's. The GMPP manifold is port matched, I use the GM gasket listed above or trim a standard one using the ports as a template.

I know that I'm diggin' up an old thread of Dan's but I'm in the same boat only 3 years later. What is the CORRECT intake gasket for my Edelbrock 6045 heads??? The Edelbrock 7203 is not even close to the "Rovals" I scared to ask how much $$$ for the GM p/n 12366985!

Pat you can get them at the dealer for 30-40 bucks I think. Pricey but they are the correct gasket. If you have no luck then PM me. Dan I haven't seen any but I think AFR makes a gasket for their roval . If not I think I may have an extra set.
