Hi All,

I am going to inspect a 67 SS 13817 car tomorrow. The person selling it has the original title and no other docs. Bought it from the 80 year old orig owner. Says the complete drivetrain is #'s matching, 4 spd, buckets, rust in trunk and bottom of fenders and quarters. Has new trunk pan, center console and extra 396 engine. How much is it worth?

He is asking 9K

Thanks
Dave

If you want true help you will have to give an asking price. I doubt you will begin negotiations without one. So many times we get asked to help on a car purchase and the person asking remains elusive and only creates an illusion of the car.

A lot of the true experts in 66/67's here have grown weary of these types of situations and are not responding at all. I promise you in the end you will need their help. We can only help up to the point you let us.

if & when , you go to see this car , don't let your heart do the negotiating , you haven't mentioned if you have been looking at a few before this , or if you are a seasoned negotiator , from my experience as a former auctioneer , my grandfather , & father , which taught me , & this is only my 2 cent's worth , if you fall in luv with something you want to purchase , being a nice set of wheel's or ? , negotiate with a low ball first , example ; 30 to 40 % of the asking price . want's a 1000.00 , offer 650.00 . wait for his response , & it will soon tell you , if he's had offer's , or he's stuck in gear , or if he's played this game for a few yr's , get to learn these sign's , & at this point , you will know which route to take with the seller , these sigh's show ; if the seller need's the cash today , which i have learn't , the age factor , being fairly well off , & elderly , or a young buck , like we used to be , wanting cash to pay for the next month's rent , or out on the weekend . by the sound of the seller's voice , tone & expression , meaning looking you straight in the eye's , generally mean's he or she is not going to do much negotiating , hang on ! i'm doing so much babbling , gotta go for a !!!! . --- !!!! wabbleeeee pop's , any hoo , throw your offer in if you like the car , wait 2 to 3 day's , telling him / her you are interested in the car & no more , if they call you back in within this time , you know negotiations are on , if they don't call you , and your still in luv with the buggy , tell them you'll meet em half way , if not ! there's alway's another one around the corner . i haven't alway's gotten good deal's in life , over paid for some muscle car's & did'nt have any remorse about it , i simply done some work to them to bring them back up to the going rate & better . like stock's & bond's , there's a time to hold on , & a time to sell . same as r.e right now , now is the time to buy , & hold onto if you've got the spare cash ? . hold on & that wave will come back again , & you will be one happy camper that you did so . good luck in your buying venture's - tommy
