Hey guys,
I want to do some upgrades over the winter. Tell me if you think I am headed right or if the money could be better spent. I would like to put in a set of forged pistons to get me up to 12.5 to 1 or a little higher. If I have put high octane in it now why not? And I would also like to put a roller cam in also. Mabee some thing a little longer on dur. The converter will also be swaped for a 4000, eventually. What do you guys think? What kind of gains should I expect? Also, I don't want to shift higher than 7000 if I don't have to. Thanks

I think that I'd invest in a set of heads,,,AFR's or Canfields will run circles around the double humps, heck even vortecs will,,,the compression isnt worth that much IMO.

i agree with Robert on the heads. especially if you add more compression. you mention that you run high octane now, you could probably get away with 92-93 octane pump gas if you had aluminum heads and kept the same compression and added a larger cam and the 4000 stall. AFR 210's or even some 195's would probably pick you up 30 or 40hp or more, unless there has been extensive porting done to those humpers.

Ok, mabee I should ask this differently. What Do you guys think I should do to get mid 11s out of this car? By no means am I a porter, but I have a good 50 hours porting these heads mostly in the bowl area, I had a good local engine builder show me where and what to do and he said they looked good when done. I want to do the piston thing, Mabee a little larger solid? This car is mostly strip. Thanks
