I used some double face tape on the very back of the carpet where it goes under the back seat just to keep it in place while I installed the rear seat. Worked great. Other than that, no.

Put mine last week. instructions said 3 hrs. yea right. I might use some spray adheasive after it has a chance to sit awhile. I forgot what spray I got but the guy said it came out in more of a stream and was the better of the two they had at advance auto. it's in an orange can. good luck.

OK Carpets...

1st one hour for removing and reinstalling all the seats without scratching the heck out of your door panels and/or sill plates not to mention the back ache you will have because you don't do this sort of thing everyday...

2nd one hour to use a pick from the bottom of the car and a piece of chalk to mark where it penetrates the carpet so that you will know exactly where the seat bolt and seat belt mounting holes are...x them with your scissors instead of cutting out a small circle or square or whatever...you will discover that the bolts are hard to reinstall but it will work...

3rd one hour to fit your sill plates and your console before you do any trimming to them use your chalk so you know where to trim...again make use of one of the handiest upholstery tools the pick!!!

3 hours...you can do it with no glue or double sided tape assuming you have a good carpet (ACC)!!!

Take 5 hours and make sure it looks good and you can break out the rubber mallet but be very gentle don't screw up the loop pile...

Try not to get to crazy with foil backed crap and sound deadeners and tar paper and the such because it creates moisture holding areas (I'll probably get some flak here but whatever boys)...

70 Gold Nugget, That is an interesting point about the sound deadener/foil back stuff. Hadn't considered that. You mention ACC for carpet. do you have more info for them? Is that the supplier of the carpet?

My carpet fit like crap for some reason. Around the transmission hump is the worst area, Doesn't fit tight at all
I have a similar problem. Apparently I got carpet for a 4 speed car. They have an extra sheetmetal bulge that automatics & column shift vehicles don't have. Correcct carpet is AWI.

Foil back and sound deadener...this is a controversial subject as many many people install this stuff nowadays and swear by it (the factory did not use the stuff!)...and I'll admit it probably is a good idea for a lot of cars...my opinion on the stuff was formed by two things...one I do this crap for a living so I have to tear that stuff out of cars and it is usually just one big mess...two I grew up in a bodyshop were many many many hotrods have been done over the years...I've seen them bissected dissected and all manner of things done to them and that stuff traps moisture which leads to metal rot...

ACC...Auto Custom Carpets...yes a first rate carpet supplier and yes you must specify EXACTLY what you want loop pile 4 speed or auto etc...you can google it and find their website...most of your catalog carpets are in fact made by ACC...

Mine was folded up in a box, so I had to lay mine out for a day or so to see if it would flatten a little....is that an issue with the ACCs?
Craig, I'm sure they all come folded up in a box for shipping and laying them out in the sun for a few hours definitely helps.

How did your Trim Parts carpet fit, especially on the trans hump?

Mike
