Hi Guys.
I'm going to do a total new front end job on my 72 Chevelle Malibu.
I've found all the parts I believe I need to get the job done from (Ground up ). With the Deluxe suspension kit plus upper & lower control arms the site give's me a choice of oval or round bushings? Not sure on which to use here? I Also want to replace the shocks on the front while we're at it.
Any suggestions. If you want to see the (Deluxe suspension kit) plus (upper & lower control arms) here is the link to both at ground up.

More than likely you have oval, but if you look under the front end, in the wheel well back part of a-arm you will see the bushing that connects it to the frame, there is two, the front which is always round and the rear, which can be either way. If available, purchase the how to rebuild your front end tape, it made it simple for me, but I got all my stuff from PST, or performance suspension technologies, I watched a section of the tape, went and performed work, did it this way until I was done. And dont tighten any bushing bolts and nuts until the car is sitting on the ground, which is hard to do if your my size. Dont tighten on the stands, the car will stay up on the suspension and wont drop until you losen them and then retighten.

Well the lower control arms you are buying come with the bushings. It says they are the oval ones. So it doesn't matter what front end kit you get, you won't need the bushings. But just in case, you should get the oval bushings to match the arms.

I put in KYB shocks all around, haven't really had anything else so I have no basis for comparison so take my suggestion for what it's worth. ;)

Tim.

Also the shocks, which you can get from PST also, I recommend KYB, did all this on my 72, with the rear suspension also, which is all Hotchkis, which I bought from Year One. Its a shock to see that multiple sites will have better prices, I ordered a little from here and little from there, and saved lots of money. Order front end kit as one though. Good luck, Jeff:beers:
