We have one of each. My car has a 350, my husbands has a 454.
AAAHHH two muscle cars in the family, uh? Your hubby is a lucky man to have a Mrs. that's into muscle cars. All the women that I meet cannot understand why many of us guys are into Hi-perf cars. Good for him (and for you too).

Small block here
406 cu.in.
Scat crank & rods
Pro tru forged pistons
Reed solid f.t. 238/246 @ .050, lift .542/.561, 111 lsa
195 AFR Eliminators
Pro systems 780 dp, Rpm air gap
1 3/4 headers, 3" pipe to the x, 2 1/2" to muffs and tails
12 bolt with 3.73's, th350
3800 lbs with my fat carcass in the seat

I just finished swapping the exhaust from 1 5/8 headers and flowmasters with H pipe. Not sure if it will make a difference or not but the new headers don't cover up the exhaust ports on the heads like the 1 5/8 did. Just think, only 3 more months of winter

You obviously have not met the right woman yet. I totally understand why you guys love them! I was hooked the very first time I drove one.:yes:The feel, the sound ,the smell, theirs nothing like it.:noway:
That makes me think of a commercial I saw recently. It said "when you turn your car on does it return the favor". I have to say hell yes!:D

I have a '71 SS that was stock 350 but I dropped in a BBC a few years ago.

My wife used to say "I had boyfriends in high school with cars like that!" hoping it would make me get rid of it.

I used to always respond - "Wow, you had some pretty cool boyfriends in high school!"

The Mrs. sounds like a keeper.

WOW!!! That sure is one serious and mean looking machine!!!
By running a blower you can run humongus heads, 360 cc intakes without loosing street manners. The same heads without the blower would be a dog at low rpm. The blower makes up for their size and gives excellent flow for making real power.
You can also run a strong cam, my case 265/270 @ .050 and it acts very mild because of the big cubes, 540 and again the blower makes power even at 1200 rpm.
I run a pair of reworked 850 double pumpers and can still pull down 20 mpg on the open road, that is with 355 gearing and .68 overdrive.
I like big cubic inches and blown. Best of every world and incredible torque with street manners.
