Removing reap main cap Help!

I am having a hard time removing a rear main cap from a Gen V BBC.

I am using a rubber mallet, but it is not budging.

try wrapping a rag around a screw driver and but it in the bolt whole and GENTLY hit it and see if you can get it to come loose

A plastic or wood hammer should work better. Rubber will absorb too much of the impact.

I got it.

I used a screwdriver in the bolt hole, then after it was loose I used a tiny prybar to break it from the silicone on the rear main seal.
