Understandable considering the dollar cost of his engines; he doesn't want to run any "experiments" since most are customer motors. He runs exclusively Jesels. Jesels are GREAT lifters, but I wouldn't run them on the street because AFAIK they don't have pin oiling as Mike said. For race lifters though they are about the best you can get!

Mike,

Ya dont have to convince me.... I have an Isky cam in my BBC and two other Isky SBC cams here in stock at home ... and have ran Isky's in the past !.. Your preaching to the choir..

To clairify I was mearly pointing out that Crane has been doing this for along time... When they came out with them I remember seeing a cutaway of a lifter and as I recall ( This was 20 years or so ago ) it really only directed the oil to the edge of the needles....I never made claim that the Crane's were as good as the Isky or Crower units... only that some of Crane's lifters have this feature....

I wasnt takeing a shot at anyone.... Only confirming that they were made.

In the short time I've been here, I think one of the best parts of this group is that folks don't take shots at each other! Hugely important cause I've seen it be the death of other groups.

We all have opinions and share them, a great way to learn!

Hey Al,,
Absolutely no offense taken & I didn't even consider it as a shot :D

I know you of all people with your background know the difference ;)

You have probably seen more broken stuff across your desk than most will see in a lifetime :(

It's just Crane is implying they are oiling the needles & axle with their ad & last I checked, if you spray oil on the outside of a rotating object it tends not to migrate to the center until it stops rotating :D

Just don't want folks to get the idea it is the same oiling system.

Be sure to tell Michele Hi for me

Mike,

Agreed completly.. they are not the same system !

As useual I have to work Saturday... I think Michele may be in also .... I'll make sure to tell her you said Hi... With her new job title it keeps her busy behind the scenes now and many people out there miss her and I guarentee she misses all you guys !

Hi Lonnie,
I can't speak for the other brands but my understanding is Isky has or is dropping their "standard" hyd roller & gone to a new "premium" lifter. 2070-HYRT for the SB & 3970-HYRT for the Rat.

Don't know much about the difference yet but I find this is the way Isky seems to do things.

If they find a problem they address it instead of telling you that you are the only person in the known world that has ever had this problem ,,, or the famous "I've never heard of a problem like that before, you must have installed it wrong"

Or the standard bulls**t it's not our part, it's the "other guys" answer from a lot of places we won't mention

I can also tell you that I lost an engine on the dyno with 5 pulls because of a hyd roller lifter failure from another well known company & was told the standard not our fault, wrong springs, block is bad, installed wrong????,,,,,, the list goes on.
In there defense, they did replace the cam with a solid of my choice ground on a billet so it only cost me a complete tear down, cleaning, bearing replacement etc

This same "bad block" with Isky solids now has over 5k on it???

It's good to hear that Isky handles their business this way.
