Well the car show starts pretty quick, this year I'm going to watch it from start to finish. It will be interesting to see the chevelles in the $40k to the $120k range. Irregardless of what they sell for we get to see them.

I'm sorry but barrett jackson to me is like toyota in nacar. I get that feeling of fingernails on a chalk board. Can't watch it. To each his own.

Re: Barrett Jackson in 30 minutes

67 chevelle 396 4 speed, something was rebuilt either the trans or engine or both. Red with black int. looked really nice, non matching $36,000.

62 white plymouth 440 cast crank two fours four speed, looked really good $20,000.

71 El Camino 450-425hp matching numbers with a/c ?
$28000
I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that. I've already found myself yelling at them for stupidity.

The Chevelle was a clone built from an original 6 cylinder car based on the VIN. Not a bad number for a clone selling in the first hour of the auction.

There are a lot of guys that work nights that might not get to see this, or don't have the setup to record it, so a little running account for them, now, thats not a bad thing is it.

The Monster Garage stuff is so badly done...that I didn't even waste any card space on it in my camera....

They didn't look any better on TV Bruce

One thing I've noticed so far here on Tuesday is they seem to be giving more time for each car on the Block (even the low value cars). I think the reasons for this are twofold:

1) - BJ has accepted fewer consignments this year.
2) - Some hangover from the legal issue concerning that Ramchargers car from last year.

Hey Don...how are ya? One thing I did notice is that there are a LOT more people in the auction area...on a TUESDAY(not a lot of open seats while I was there)

It didn't get really busy last year until Thursday...

I may be wrong...but I think that BJ has close to the same amount of consignments this year as last year...If I'm wrong...it won't be the first time:)

Yes, the 'expert' announcers aren't the sharpest knives in drawer. At least they have the Hot Rod Alumni dude that actually knows a thing or two about muscle cars. Big glasses and all, I dig him.

That Rick Da'drool bozo should be on the Goat Channel. He's a large mouth head, read what's on the telepromter, MoRon. The mistakes that come out of his mouth is jaw-dropping sometimes.

Other than that, it's entertaining, and sometimes educational on the subject I love.....Cars!

So far, the Chevelles are doing VERY well!

The announcers take away a lot from the show by their actling like they know what they are talking about when they don't. Better to have some gear heads there that really know what is in front of them. I don't know jack about Mercedes, Jags or Bricklins, but I also have the good sense to not act like I do.

That crap from monster garage should have been embarassing for BJ. I thought the workmanship sucked on most of it, the paint was just plain bad. I guess BJ thought the name was more important then the quality. What's worse are the idiots that bought some of it.

As much as I look down on the whole deal and the people bidding twice what something is worth, so they can be on TV, it is better to watch then whatever is usually on. The whole deal looks like a bunch of professional golfers to me!!!!

Missed a 69 nova ss custom coupe that may have been interesting, they went on break at the time.

#110 69 el camino ss 396 orginal #'s engine, protecto plate, owners manual, bill of sale, blue with black stripes.

said it had headers non stock wheels hurt the value. $23,000.

Only a few people left when they were bidding on the el camino, pretty deserted looking.

Nothing on the list for the rest of tonight worth watching, start up again 6pm tomorrow.

They just want to get that kiss from Amy:D

Did anyone notice a bidder offering 55K for a car and the auctioneer did not hear it. Even the BJ bidder assistant made the 55K offer and was puzzled when it did not go through. Car goes back to 52K and the guy who offered 55K gets it for 53K. Loss of 2K for the seller or $1,840.00 after 8% selling fee. :(
