Bulkhead Goop

I have recently finished restoring my engine harnesses and need to replace the black sealant goop that is used around the wires to the plastic bulkhead. What have others used when replacing this sealant? I was thinking about Black RTV Sealant, but not sure how well it would work.

Thanks for any input.

I used black butyl rubber, the windshield sealant stuff. Got it at NAPA. It's easier to dig out than RTV.

Its really just heavy grease to keep water out and keep from corroding.

I'm not sure how long the butyl tape would work. Any other options??

Two things, one is a paint on type of electrical connector sealant and the other is the liquid rubber that you dip your ends of pliers and screw drivers in. Both are available at any NAPA store.
