josh,
I run the dynomax super turbos on my signature car and they are reasonably quiet. The car has a 2.5 inch system to the back. Sorry but I don't know alot about the two mufflers you posted, but flows are not usally known to be the quietest (but I find there sound pretty cool). The x-pipe is suppost to help, running tailpipes out to the back usally cuts down on the reflected noise which helps out quite a bit also.

I recently purchased and had installed Flowmasters new 3 inch A body system. It came with their new 30 series mufflers. I really like the way they sound. Mean but without the typical flowmaster drone. I use to have the 2 chambers on a camaro and they were pretty brutal. I removed dynomax race mufflers off my chevelle prior to putting the flowmaster kit on. I really prefer the sound of the 30 series. Flowmaster exhaust has a sound clip of the mufflers installed on their website. I think it's flowmastermufflers.com.

Just something to consider.

I have Edelbrock RPM mufflers- they are a straight through design muffler similar to Magnaflow's or Dynomax Ultraflow's...

They are exactly as you described- Fairly Quiet at idle(althoug still sound great) and sound awesome when you get on it.

If you are really concerned about the sound, you might reconsider the x-pipe. It REALLY quiets down the exhaust and gets rid of the "muscle car" sound by smoothing it out too much.

Just my $.02
