i curently have a chevelle 1969 with a big block 427
gear 3.73 th 400 , 4025 pounds with me in it
i have 10.25 comp ratio with a stealth manifold and a 850 cfm holley
the heads are casting 781 with 2.19 and 1.88 valve
the cam are comp cams solid flat with 244 , 252 at 0.50 with .575 and .603 lift with this setup i
1.71 60 feet
8.0 at 85 mph on 1/8
12.64 at 104 on 1/4

with the muffler and tail pipe on.

i look for and hydraulic roller with about 228 and 238 at 0.50 and about .600 lift to you think i make better performance with hydraulic roller
or i must keep my current setup.

thank again.

Sounds like a good combi, I would expect a little more mph out of it though.

My bet is that your exhaust may be holding you back. What's it llok like? Try dropping the exhaust at the track to see what happens.

i agree a cam change is not the issue right now

the mph is low for yoru setup

i would expect 109-112 mph and et around 12.5 or better
what rpm are you going the the traps at?

dont go hydro roller stick to a solid falt tappet

if your converter isnt stalling to 3500 or its not a 10" you need one that does

I think that beast should hit 115 at least, with high-mid 11s.

You'll need 3" exhaust though with matching mufflers orjust run open headers at the track.

10" / 3500 stall minimum. get a good brand name unit.

What about the tune? Timing makes a huge difference.

Are the secondary's opening up all the way?

What rear gear and tire are you running?

Converter is my guess, or tranny.

Hyd roll, blah. I make more power with my solid flat tappet than most with their $$$ HR's. Which is whjy I dont think its the cam. I have 241/253@.050/ 155/161@.200", and the car sees 117-118 mph minus 2 for a converter = 116. Cam is very similar to your, maybe a bit more agressive deisgn, but reckon they're identical.

2" primary into a 3.5" X 3" xpipe to 3" mufflers. You say a tailpipe and A muffler. What ya got?

Is that cam degreed in right, might be retarded ??

if you foot brake the car when does it start breaking the tires loose?
your 1/4 mph seems off could be converter or trans also 5200 is about 500 shy of what i would think you should be going through the traps at. may need more gear...

id try and get a better 60ft by driving the car more at the track and see what you can do for every tenth on your 60ft its 2 tenths in the 1/4 so if you pull a 1.6 you should go 12.4 but the mph idicates your at about where you should be if everything is in tune and your driving good

you need more gear
