My Car is finally painted

hey yall my car is finally painted my 68 300 Deluxe was just painted the original color Ash Gold but you tell me does this really look like ash gold i dont think it does the dude said he got the code off the body plate and went and ordered it its PPG Paint base/clear, i thought Ash Gold had more green than this in it

This one the reason the paint looks dull is because he had this whole side wet sanded before i could get a before pic oh well

Looks good!! I tried to get PPG BC/CC for my 70 SS Elky and it cannot be mixed(1970 code 58 dark gold metalic). We even called PPG. They offered something close but not exact. Maybe something like that happened in your case. My gold color looks a few shades darker than yours...I had to end up going with omni base. I only have some stuff cut in so far but it looks good.

every year they changed the color a little but used the same paint code. so if he told them code 58 for a 69 chevelle then they should of used that mixing formula. we use diamont and it is tricky sometimes it should always be sprayed on swatch first. just a good rule of thumb. cuz once its painted its too late.

thanks guys he said he got the paint code right off the body plate which was G-G its a 68

maybe itll look better out in the sun instead of in a dark garage:thumbsup: i get it back next thursday to then its going to have the brand new windshield put in :thumbsup:

Did you verify thru your paint supplier that your code is actually available in DBC or whatever he used? They did try to sell me on "something close"

I have another thread in body shop saying my Chevelle is finally done or something or my 300 Deluxe is finally done look it up should be in the past week section
