hey guys, i got a few questions. I dont know anybody with a supercharger or anybody who knows about em so i felt that this would be my next best resource. I have a 355sbc 9.5:1, with edelbrock performer rpm aluminum heads, lunati cam, speed demon carb (not sure on all specs. models ect..gotta check). I wanted to throw a supercharger on it, get a little more power out of it. The main question is what are the main factors in putting a supercharger on a sbc? Where could i go to learn more about superchargers? what would be a good recommended kit? thanks i appreciate any feedback :thumbsup:

Frank, heres the question I have for you....Do you know if you want a roots blower or a centrifigul supercharger i.e: Procharger,Vortech,etc?
Most cheapest and cost effective would be a Wieand 142 mini-blower like I have. Even with 9.5 comp those aluminum heads will help. These blowers out of the box run 4-6psi on stock to mild motors of 350cid. You'll see a big jump from N/A to boosted 355. These kits are pretty cheap and not much else needs to be done to make it work and last.

kind of what the cheif said, the little roots style is prob. the most bolt on friendly-you dont have to get into boost ref. the fuel system like a blowthru, ot cutting the hood like on a larger roots-your comp. should be fine, i have run 18 lbs boost on a 9.5 motor (procharger) you will be really happy with the boost, most kits let you maintain all your power acces. w/o a lot od fabrication

Also make sure your bottom end can take it. ( No pun intended ) For the best performance I would also get a custom blower cam.
