I have a holley double pumper that was recently rebuit. however, the engine I am building has lots of chrome, billet parts, etc...The carb quite frankly looks like crap right now. Anybody know the best way to clean it up? It is the old stlye bronze looking finish which is fine, I just want it cleaned up a bit.

Bob;

Is the original finish deteriorated, or just dirty?

If it's just dirty, a long bath in good carb cleaner should clean it up. If the finish is deteriorated, the only correct way (i.e. no spray paint) to bring it back is to refinish it is to re-do the factory chemical dip process.

The carb is clean, i.e. no grime...it appears to be that the finish is deteriorated...I tried buffing out a float bowl, but it just didn't look good. Need to know more about the chemical dip process...where can you get it done?

Send it to "Vintage Musclecar" who responded to your post. Eric has done several carbs for me and does high quality work. His ethics and integrity are of the highest caliber.
Thank you. I appreciate that more than you know.
