So Rick and Boyd,
Trash guys can snag some good stuff. You guys ever hit the jackpot?
Nope 🤣 I did luck out not showing up for work on a day the truck went down a 30ish foot embankment and the driver broke his arm

I was a 10 year old kid so probably getting excited baseball season was almost here. And likely helping Dad wash and tune up one of our 3 Chevys. Either his ‘66 Chevelle 283 convertible he bought new and gave to me when I turned 17, his beater ‘61 Impala 6 cylinder 4 door he bought for $50 and drove to work, or Mom’s ‘71 350 Impala coupe. We were an all Chevy family until ‘77 when they traded Mom’s Impala for a new T-bird.

I just finished the paint and bodywork on this before getting married.

Well I sure do way back in 1975, I bought my 1st engine to swap into my 65 Impala 283 car that my Dad gave to me (after my little brother ruined the 283) What did I get to put in that 65 you ask? Well nothing better then a 390hp 427 out of a 69 Corvette is what I swapped in that 65 Impala. Got it from a guy hanging around the gas station I worked at for a mere $150 cash carb to pan. Had to buy new exhaust and brackets for the 65 along with a new radiator. When I got done that car was fast for an old B-body car and that's where it all began 50 years ago this month.
I was working in a local Grocery store and snow skiing every weekend at Sugar Bowl Ski resort in Northern California.

Probably cruising in my '68 Camaro or getting it ready for another weekend street drag race. Hanging with friends, drinking beer, and maybe partaking in a little marijuana (medicinal purposes only ;)). FWIW - Yes I did inhale and no I don't do that any more.

I was 8 years old and BMX was just starting to become a thing, and I was obsessed with it. There were plenty of empty lots and other places around, and my buddies and I would bring shovels and wood and build tracks to race and do stunts - Evel Knievel was a big deal back then.

Ya, working on a frame off on my 56 Corvette.

And today, with a friend's numbers matching 61 Impala SS with 348/tripower.
