I don’t worry about that because I live in Texas. People have common sense when it comes to laws and government overreach. votes have consequences.

EDIT PS Lauren FIx is a very good car commentator. Gearhead she is.
That she is And she is correct.
And as a group we do not put enough miles on per year to cause a noticeable shift in pollution control. The governor of Cali is an idiot and Lauren Fix is correct if they do enact this law millions of Ca people will move away to a state more favorable to their cars. Also the car restoration business's & it's industry might move with them.
That will cause Ca to lose home owning people who pay their property taxes AND those Cali based company's that are restoration and parts manufacturers with tax paying workers.
Screwing them will cause a big shift in that section of their economy maybe causing a localized west coast recession ? You never know it could happen ?
I'm already worried that the SoCal wildfires will make a large section of California's wanting to move because of them and there's no reason to add to their reasons to GTFO .

As a SF Ca resident I think the fires have changed our political landscape (fingers crossed). Environmentalists have had their foot on the necks of this state for far too long. I think Newsom’s handling of this disaster has sealed his political coffin. I hope that my fellow Californians down south remember this and help defeat this blue way of thinking. You can’t claim that it’s for the environment and fail to protect folks homes and lives without proper forest mitigation. LA, Paradise, Clear Lake, etc. fires have done far more damage than my Chevelle that I seasonally drive.

Praying you’re right.

Hey you guys need to keep up with the times. CA has rescinded Newsoms "ban on selling gas powered cars 2035" , because it is all going to be tied into federal funding for the fires. I doubt Newsom or any EPA CARB board in CA will have any teeth to enact a Classic car ban, considering new gas powered cars will be around for a long time: MSN

I would think Government has a lot more to worry about than our barley used old cars. Even the ones going down the race track @ 1/8 or 1/4 of a mile at a time.
Yes you'd think so. But liberal progressive government has a way of trying to stick its nose into everyone else's business because their goal in life is controlling everyone and everything.

We’re praying for the folks down in LA. I think it was yesterday when Cal Fire said that it was over 60 square miles of destruction. To put that it perspective for those around me here in the city, I tell them, “imagine the entire San Francisco burned to the ground!” SF is only a little over 46 square miles in size. In my opinion every era has its run. And the era of pronouns, remote work, concerns about your feelings, etc. is coming to an end. It’s unsustainable. Family friend and former mayor L. Breed here in SF spent millions on an open drug din and its ideas like that, ideas like banning classic cars, cutting funding to essential services has shown to be the death of folks political career. Between my brother and I we own 6 classic cars, he has two boys and I have two daughters that all enjoy the culture. How can anyone believe that outlawing them makes sense? They’re investments…come and try it, is what I say.

I say we try and work out a trade. Canada for California :p
This is not the California I grew up in back in the 70s and 80s. Crazy ass Newsolini cares more about appeasing his uber left donors than he does about legal, law abiding citizens.
He kissed Trump's ass when he and Melania flew in to see the devastation from the fires. Then he turned the water back on. Now he just signed a new $50M "Trump-proofing" bill.
The guy is pathetic. Can't wait until he's out. Gonna be hard to get any worse...

I sincerely feel for you.

I love the USA . All of the USA. Best country on the planet by far but California is probably the last state I would elect to live in. Ive visited there but thats as far as it goes.
No offense to anyone that lives there. If you tried living somewhere else you probably see things from my side.

I sincerely feel for you.
I kick myself for not leaving years ago. Buddy of mine left for Idaho and never looked back. I'm in IT and SoCal is a good place for that but at some point the quality of life (or lack thereof) just mandates a move away from here. I've been looking at Missouri but for some reason tornadoes scare the crap out of me...

I'd be more scared of CA's wild fires, mudslides and earth quakes! :)
