What is the most common size skinnies for the front of a 67 Chevelle. What is the largest slick or tire you can fit the 67 rear wheel well?

My '66 is running M/T 28x7.5 fronts #255669 on 4" wide rims and M/T 275 rears #3754X on 8" wide rims.
A slightly wider tire could fit in back but it would be too close IMO, especially for a stock suspension that has considerable movement. Fronts are perfect for what I'm doing.

What kind of events are you doing and just how often? Do you drive yours on the street?

Well...I never race. Closest thing to racing is once a year at Norwalk's Halloween Classic. I'm more of a professional test-n-tuner. The car is street driven, but not as much as I used to. For some reason it likes to break valve springs so it has me gun shy. It's on it's 4th set in 5 years.
I started running these Radial Pro's 5 years ago and probably did ~1500 mile/yr then. Street use never hurt the 60' time and can get about 3000 miles and 50 passes a/yr. No highway use.

I think what your doing there is what I will be doing once I get my journey over and the car is all together again.

With the 7" wide SS rims, 4.75" backspace, I ran BFG DR 275/60/15 and folks thought she was tubbed! Now I use 8" steelies with a 5" backspace. You can go up to 10.5" wide with 5.5" backspace I believe.

No rolled wheel openings, all oem sheet metal.
