I've been lurking around here for a while... gleaming all this valuable information.
today I officially took the plunge and officially joined your forum..
My name is Rich & thanks to my Dad I've been into cars my entire life(i'm 52). I'm a self employed jeweler, leather worker and metal fabricator. Over the past 15 years I've built and own a couple of off topic cars, 2 late 50's /early 60's style hotrods..
Currently I'm putting together a 1964 El Camino.. with a freshly rebuilt 1971 350 4 barrel with a mild cam, she's getting a front disc brake conversion, all new steering components, 2inch drop spindles, 12 bolt 3:31 posi swap, 2 inch lowered rear springs , 4 speed(M20) conversion, and sitting on a set of 15" rally wheels-

I'm looking forward to becoming a part of this community, thanks in advance for answering all my questions and concerns!!

Looks like a very solid foundation man! Keep us informed on your progress!
Thanks!
It's been sitting at a body shop out in Ojia California for the last 30+ years.. Minimal rust. The engine is long gone, but it's a factory automatic & had power steering..

Blown1932, off topic but I saw the impressive dyno numbers you had with a 540 with an Isky cam 248/258 111 LSA and was wondering if you remembered the lift on those lobes? I was looking at Isky cam list and saw on a 248 lobe they had .632 lift and on the 258 they had .680 lift. I have a similarly built engine and getting ready to purchase a new cam. Thanks

Yep, that's the one. Mark recommended it and I've been very happy with it. I'm running a ProFlo 4 XT for EFI and it has good street manners.

Also, wondered if you have took a manifold vacuum check with that cam and what it was in gear or park? I have factory power disc brakes and wanted them to work without a vacuum pump or canister if possible.

I'll dig up the cam card and post a photo to be sure (pretty sure I know where it is). Didn't pay much attention to vacuum as I'm not running power brakes, that and I live above 6500ft.
