Friend of mine in Florida broke into the 11's with his "L89", best was 11.91@114
Stock “appearing” is far from stock. Still amazing to watch 9’s on these tiresYes Rick, the weight listed was one of the first things I noted. I'm just questioning if those vehicle weights listed are merely assumed by the sanctioning body, or by the board, or even if they're merely the claimed weight numbers by the drivers/competitors themselves and are merely taken for granted as part of some honor system alone. Or if they're checked at least randomly, if not routinely, ( as I would think they should be).
However, I don't want to be misunderstood here. Low 12's and even high 11 ET's are very impressive, and are one thing. But low 9 second or even mid 9 second ET's out of cars that are supposed to be at least somewhat close to factory "stock" is a whole different animal IMO.
So regardless of appearance, I would think that with a long rules list that these classes have, the vehicle weights being routinely checked and verified at each event would be the norm
That would be cool watching either one of those cars racing the new Demon 170. One at the local track just ran 9.16@148 last weekend.Jordan's 1967 L88 Corvette ran a 9.10@148 MPH
Interesting to see which engines get the highest and lowest "calculated hp". None of them are slouches but some patterns do emerge.
They are at Martin this Friday and Saturday. Should be interesting. 😱Jordan's 1967 L88 Corvette ran a 9.10@148 MPH
