To start you need to understand the difference between the standard 2 door hardtop door panels and the 2 door post panels.
take a look at the pics below to see what I'm talking about...
compare that to a standard 2 door hardtop panel and the difference is clear....
So yes, you CAN use a 2 door hardtop door panel- but that chunk of steel inner door at the rear will be exposed which is ugly and you'll see it every time the door is opened.
The door panel in the top pic is a PUI D310T which is an unassembled door panel for a 2 door Sedan (post), but includes the kick out with extra material at the rear edge of the door.
D310CT is the rear unassembled panel for a 2 door sedan...
But they are unassembled, meant to re-use the original top plates from the original door panels. If you don't have them, you may need to get a set of used hard top originals and have someone fab up and weld a few inches of steel onto the rear of it... test fit and trim as needed, then you will be ready to attach the door panel to it.
The rear top plate just has a notch in its leading edge for the Post... again, you should be able to modify an original one without too much hassle, then install the correct unassembled door panel to it.
hope this helps-
