Sweet MC, we’re the 305ci that came in those an HO ? might be a dumb question but if you don’t ask you never know
Lol, the HO probably bumped the hp to 140. 😁

That is a damn solid looking project. I'd get it running and daily it untill the snow flies.

You southern guys are lucky...If that car was up here it would be rusted out, wheels all oxidized...etc. Nice project

Nice car, but just curious.

How are you squaring all these cars with Mrs. N??

Where's the Impala?
I have the best wife EVER. I rented a storage unit five minutes away that's locked and gated. For the next twelve months, two of my nice old cars will be in my garage, and the other will be in the storage unit. I'll rotate them around. My 64 C10 stays in the driveway. At some point I'll likely build a free-standing carport in my back yard.

Great cars. I had an 85 back in 89. Do yourself a favor and dump the 305 and put a 383 stroker in it. You would love it.:)
Since the original engine is gone, I'm building a mild 350 with a small Isky hydraulic roller. I'll paint it black and make it look as much as possible like the original.

is the rear glass being made now? years ago my buddy worked at a wrecking yard and his partner was in charge of crating up a back window to ship. He managed to bust it putting it in the crate. my buddubsaid the boss was not happy
My uncle also had an 87 Aerocoupe, and it was stolen from Atlanta about 20 years ago. The car was found totaled in Dallas TX a few months later when the perp got drunk and rear-ended another car going over 100mph. My uncle had the remains towed back to GA and we stripped it for parts. I am getting the spare back glass we salvaged from the wreck - it was about the only usable part on the car.

FYI, the '87 Aerocoupe glass is different than your '86

I know where two '86 Aerocoupes are, but they don't want to put them on the registry for privacy reasons.

Mike,
You have a lot of nice old metal. If you held a gun to my head and said “pick just one” think I would have to go with the 65 Impala.

Nice score! Glad you can make room for such finds.
My friend's kid brother had a maroon one years ago. I'm not sure where car or kid is today. I have been seeing more and more restored/well-cared-for 80's Monte SS' driving around. They look sharp. Same with Buick GN's. Never see any Pontiacs.

My foster son bought a nice black 2000's Monte SS. Slowly, it started looking trashed due to his lack of cash and laziness. I wonder if that gen Monte will ever gain the respect of enthusiasts?

I didn't know Chevy made any other squared off rear windows other than the Caprice, they call them the Glass house. Here's a picture of my 78 Caprice.

Very cool Monte, thanks for sharing! View attachment 787275
That's awesome! I remember seeing those Caprice's on the road back in the day, and thinking they would make a cool hot rod - as you have proven!

That is a NICE Aerocoupe! Don't see them much at all. My youngest son has an '86 Monte Carlo LS - Luxury Sport. That was his High School / College Car. He was born in '86, doubt he will EVER get rid of it. Has the 305, was bench and column shift. A LOT of swap meets later now has factory floor shift, factory tach, console and correct buckets. It's his Baby which I stored for several years until he and his wife bought their home in NW Alabama, Northport. Had it shipped to him and THEN I got the room back in my shop for my '57 2 dr sedan, '71 Chevelle and '71 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4. I also have a very understanding wife of 53 years, LOL.

Love that '65 Impala!! I had a true '65 Impala SS myself at one point years ago and like a dumb*** back in the early 70s I got a weak moment and sold it. 300 hp/327, 4 spd, posi, factory buckets and console, factory tach. Ran dual exhaust thru Thrush mufflers and a Mr. Gasket "Bang-shifter" I regret selling it to this day! For some reason I still have the loan papers on it with the VIN and a used purchase price of $900.00 . Had it repainted a medium blue and with the white bucket interior it really popped! Still kick my *** to this day for selling it.

Pics of my son's '86 M/C LS.

How is the back glass different?
