been 6 months since the last swap meet. took the grandkids along to pull the wagon.
bought a spare m20? muncie. 010 case, 1 inch shaft, 685 side case, but the tailshaft is the newer 429 tailshaft with the stud for the reverse. Haven't pulled the cover yet, found a spare comp plus shifter, will have to dremil out the levers for the 1-2 and 3-4 because it's for the stud type mounts.
stamped P0415 sn 6K130540
price was 450, not negotiating but he had a 66-7 big block z bar I had him throw in.
Also boigjt a set of my favorite wheels. Old school slotted mags. 15x7 and 15x8 had corvette caps on them. I bought a set of Appliance centercaps at a yard sale Friday and they fit. rims were 200 bucks for the set. Even included 20 proper lugnits and washers. I used to get them for 10 to 20 bucks each. I guess those days are long gone.
The guy with the trans sold 3 sets of bucket, 1 set of new foam and a ton of other parts for 800 bucks. I snoozer and missed out. there was a th400 gear vendor but I'm going 4 speed with everything. jim

Pontiac A-Body (LeMans/GTO) used that extension housing from 1964-70. A Chevelle transmission assembly date P0401 should have a partial VIN in the 6K176nnn to 6K187nnn (April 1966 production) range so the partial VIN sequence 6K130540 indicates it is likely from a GTO/Lemans.

I was there for a couple of hours but didn't see you there Jim. I didn't find anything I couldn't live without. Friend scored 4 15x7 Centerlines for 150. The crowd was huge and the sellers I talked to were happy with sales. A win/win for everybody.

good to know about the tail housing. Bill we got there about 7am, I was busy trying to look at parts and keep a eye on the kids I may have walked right by you and not seen you.
I did go out and spin the trans in 1st gear and it's a M20 2.5 times around to 1 time around.
The grandkids were great but they were ready to leave about half way through. But hung in for 1 trip around the swap meet. I bet I missed stuff I didn't need. I went to the last antique swap meet last Sunday and brought home 2 more pistols I really didn't need. Probably good these car swaps are only 2 times a year. There's still the super T10 I bought from Brian last year sitting in my shed. jim

I posted a date question in the tag team forum. But if the tailshaft is correct and the side plate number is correct. this thing might just have the later shift forks? jim

and buying junk we really don't need. stopped at a yard sale on the way to walk the dogs this morning. lady says everything's 1 dollar. it's all going to good will Monday. 1 pair of Sony bookshelf? speakers, 1 bucks, 1 pair or Pyle driver speakers, 1 bucks, 1 pair of polk audio mc60 new in the box speakers 1 bucks! folding pocket knife, fiskar scissors, lighted magnified glass, bag of smaller drill bits, basically lady said 5 bucks for everything. installed the Sony speakers under the porch, now I have A and B speakers in the shop. advertised the Polks, might put the Pyle drivers in the carport. And to think I was going to order a pair of speakers a few weeks ago. jim
