After this incident I have decided I will never subscribe to any primedia magazine again. Their is little secret that their magazines aren't doing as well as they once did, poor writing skills-terrible articles-and advertising filled magazines combined with poor business practices are what will put them out of business if they don't change their ways.

Here's one worth looking at: http://www.chevypunch.com/
Something Al and Tony N have been cooking up.

That's why I don't have subscriptions:

1)receive only half the issues (NOT the fault of the publisher)
2)they come late - I would read them on the newstand first (again, not the publisher's fault!)
3)regurgitated articles with pictures from several years before in their tech articles. "Re-runs" if you will...
4)VERY biased articles. It's obvious who is paying the bills. For example a cam comparison with their choice, followed on the opposite page by a full page advertisment for the said company. ;) They gotta pay the bills, that's obvious, but I can't TIVO out the ads like with television. ;)

I screen them on the newstand and take home maybe one out of four mags ONLY if it has a good article or new product etc.

You could get all 4 of them for the price of that one you wanted if you subscribed. ;)

IF they arrived on time OR AT ALL LOL LOL. Nothing personal against you or your magazine - business is business. If I buy one it's for a specific photo or an article.

My sister bought me a subscription for one of the Primedia publications (not naming names ;) ) and I said "Umm geeze, thanks?" Because I knew the drill. It took 3 months to start and I got four issues. Each of which more than a week after it hit the newstand.

Not just magazines, if you own a business you get the same stuff from yellow page companies, web site hosts, postage machine companies, office supply places, long distance phone services, etc. All look like invoices, some for current "orders", some for "past due" invoices. They hope to hit a company large (or stupid) enough that the accounts payable clerk just writes the check and no one catches it. That's why I approve and sign every check that leaves this office.
