Hey Guys, back here with my hat in my hand needing help. I bought a used set of OEM bumper guards, but my rear bumper doesn't have the holes for the upper mounting clips for the guards. My AIM shows the hole in the bumper on page V32 A1 but gives no dimension as to the location or size of the hole. I measured the clip and it looks like the hole should be 1/2" diameter. Can anyone measure from the leading edge (the edge facing forward) of the bumper to the C/L of the hole? Thanks, you guys at TC have been such a great resource.

What year car? I have the mounting templates for my 72. I can email them if it helps? Front and rear.

Edit. Maybe if I read the title? Sorry

it should have brackets like this that hook over the top of the bumper.https://chevelle.com/1966-1967-bumper-guard-brackets-rear/?sku=BGB667R
The front bumper guard brackets hook over the top edge of the bumper. The rear brackets engage a hole in the top of the bumper, and I have the correct brackets. The hole is what I'm trying to get a measurement for.

Thanks surfgreen1957. I've never seen any installation instructions anywhere else. The template answers my question.

FYI, There are two possible rear guard mounting locations. Factory installed location, the lower bolt hole is shared with bottom bumper bracket mounting. The dealer installed location the guard is located closer to the center and the lower guard hole is aligned with that extra unused hole that all '67 bumpers have.

The factory location is more appealing IMO. - Bill W

Hello, is there anyway you could send me the measurements of this template to where to place the hole in the bumper. I have the rear bumper guards and an aftermarket bumper on my 1967. I just wanna get the whole correct. thanks
Hello. I will send this evening.

Here you go. The curved portion is obviously the curvature of the bumper.

Looks good. As Bill noted above, that is the dealer-installed position. Factory installed location would cover the bumper bolt on the outboard side of each guard.
