I will, however, add that if that alert/message had anything to do with AML383 and banning him for consistent, bad behavior.....that's somewhat acceptable....and I will stand corrected.

I just logged in and seen I have the same ALERT as was being mentioned here. As an ALERT being received without any known related posting or reply to a post situation I can well see why one would take it as being directed to an individual and not as a site wide reminder. Poorly done manner for such a site wide announcement. Could have been done as a "sticky" type post since that would have been known to be all inclusive to all members. I have not been here near as long as many, nor as active as some but I will say this......coming to this site is no longer the enjoyable experience that it once was. Everything seems to be so heavy handed with nearly no tolerance of any slight deviation from the straight and narrow path of acceptance but that straight and narrow path is so open to individual interpretation it is hard to know how to proceed down that unknown direction. Perhaps it would be easier with less stress and anxiety if one were to just stay in their own little portion of the world and not venture out to experience the need to tread so lightly.

Not really sure what your referring to.
Your last warning was September 17,2021 and nothing since.
Don't see any deleted posts from you or responses that show a rules reminder.
There was a rules reminder sent to current users today (6or 7 thousand) and that may be what your seeing.
anything you can point me to to see what your specific issue is?
How is it upsetting that we posted up the rules you all have been aware of for a very long time, the rules you agreed to when you signed up, the rules that have been in use for a very long time? Nothing changed. Some who have been grumbling of late have said, "what rules, I don't see any rules?" even though they know darn well what the rules are, so we decided to type them out and provide them in an easy to access manner to absolutely everyone and to make sure no one misses them we provided them as an alert to EVERYONE.
I don't see how that alert can be misconstrued or heavy handed. You are only worried about it if you have something to be worried about. Lighten up people.
When I received the alert I thought: What's going on here, I've always tried to be helpful, friendly, welcoming, and ask for info/advice so what did I do to warrant this.

Perhaps a simple statement at the beginning of the alert saying that this is a rules reminder being sent to all members would have prevented any misunderstandings.

My profession is in communications systems and it always amazes me how even with the clearest form of transmission intent is often misunderstood especially so with large groups and varying backgrounds. Often the message although appearing clear to the sender when viewed through the senders lens is not when viewed by others without the same fore knowledge of what the message is intended to convey. Yes, I've been guilty of the same thing in the past and very likely will be again.

Wow. Lots of confusion here. So maybe the rules reminder post could have be drafted with a little more background to help everyone understand why it was sent. But let’s put on our big boy pants and not get your panties in a bunch. If you are respectful and helping others with any Chevelle related topic… the alert is NOTHING.

I got a reminder of the forum guidelines to follow yesterday as well. It must have been a blanket reminder post. I thought it may have been something I said in my last post. Some of the rules/guidelines are very subjective. Here's one I really like, Our forum’s are a place to post typical conversations that you might have in your garage, at a car show or just hanging out with your automotive buddies. You ought to hear the crap we talk about in my garage or at a car show, just keepin' it real. If we got something to say, we say it. We're all adults, nobody's crying in their beer. And don't forget, no useless posts! Does that also mean no dumb questions? Smh. Ignore and move on, lifes too short to live with your undies in a bunch.

I got the alert also, read it, assumed it was for everyone and moved on..... nothing new. Same rules we've been reminded about several times in the past.

Believe some have a guilty conscious.....

Are you referring to the Moderators or the Members?
Tony, why make this political!? I'm jesting man! ;) Yet in seriousness, US V Them. Red V Blue, oval v rectal. See how infectious that simple paradigm is when you are NOT SUPER aware of its dominance in your shit? Plus its reductionist, so truth can get short shifted away. TDCharlie never mentioned any "group" but a simple standard of behavior for all.

Not you Tony, its all up in ALL OUR shit man. That's what driving the " CE ANGST" here, and the palpable divide across the U.S.A.

Gosh, sometimes I think my generation is a bunch of thin skinned sniveling little bitches. Folks need to get over themselves, not take stuff so personal and come here to engage in what we are here for. Lord knows, I've been warned too. But as mature adults can we not alter behavior and make the team move forward ? ( that's Cub Scout talk right there btw - just to highlight how much adult behavior it actually takes! )

Now, I am an asshole. Born that way. But you know what I have to truly work on, and what we dont have enough of ..? CIVILITY.

I see the rules here as simply trying to foster civility amongst folks that can get uncivil. Because, we are human, you know. That's WOKE to me, understanding human nature for what it is. And having some rules or customs to limit its ugliness. It is what it is.

Cant see how folks find that offensive, unless they want to be offensive, logically speaking
