I believe that I have a Z16 Carb but I'm not sure. The Carb was on the 396 that came in my 1969 L78 Nova that I purchased a couple years ago. The engine block was replaced in the 70's with a 962 4 bolt main Chevelle Block with an EJ Suffix which looks like the 360HP Block according to Chevrolet By The Numbers but the carb is a 3310 with the 5271 and 4519 metering blocks. How can I tell if it is a Z16 Carb, and if it is, what might it be worth?
Thanks, Donnie

post the date code, the letter code is common to multiple years. Is it an EH code carb with a Chevy part number?

They have the normal dual inlet bowels. You need the date code there were thousands made for the aftermarket in the late 60s. It is a very good carb (much better than the -2 later stuff) if you want to use it.

What's the real difference between the -0, -1 and -2 3310s anyway?

Rich, Although I couldn't find any reference to it here on TC I know this has been discussed before, maybe on another forum but I can't remember. It was stated at that time the List number suffix related to the decade in which they were produced relative to when they were first produce and the two letter suffix's were OEM models. I have a holley 3310-1 that I purchased new in 1970, a 4781-5 from the mid 1990's. The date code format 9A4 (4th week of January 1969 in this case) was used through 1971 and changed in 1972 to 2025 format where the first "2" was the year within the decade and the 025 was the Julian date (Jan 25th in this case) and this is where the -1, -2, -3 supposedly came into play although it has been alluded to that they started life as Rev. numbers. I really can't say for sure.

That all seems to make sense but I'll have to look through my reams of technical "stuff" when I get home (got called into work this morning at 4:00 am for some wonderful Sunday double time - God bless my job!).

I guess I'm more curious why Mike would say that the -2s and later are not as good. I have a 3310 on the wagon project but I can't recall if it's a -0, -1 or -2 version.

I think that the 3310-1 was a real 4150 vacuum secondary carb that was rated at 780 cfm b/c it had dog-leg boosters in it vs the 3310-2, and so on 4160 type carbs that have a rating of 750 cfm b/c of their straight leg boosters.

I know I put a 4150 rear bowl conversion on my straight leg 3310-2 as well as a quick vacuum secondary spring change out cover.

The -2 is the carb that they came out with to come up with a cheaper performance carb. The biggest change was to eliminate the sec metering block and put in a jet plate. If you have a factory sec metering block on the carb it is the good one.

Looks like I have the "good" version by that assessment then.
