Does anyone have an illustration of how the seat backs go together?. I do have an parts manual disk and assy manual but not finding the complete assy.
I bought this car 14 years ago pretty much 100% disassembled all bagged and tagged. These shims are tagged back headrest parts.. Where do they go?. Same with the headrest plastic guides how do they mount?
Thx
Jim

For headrest tubes check the sticky "worst case senario bucket seat rebuild" post #34. Dont recall those shims being part of the seat?

They go near the upper seatback, wedged between spring layers. Ben might have a good shot without foam, but here's what they look like from the back.

I'll have to dig to see if i have a pic somewhere of them from the front side.

Honestly I've never figured out exactly what they are for. They are definitely 69-72 seat specific. (maybe 68 too, but i've never had a 68 seat with factory headrest stuff in it)

My assumption has always been they are doing something like keeping the springs from being able to push back into the headrest leg area (that would extend down pas the bottom of the tube if it was installed and all the way down) . Maybe the springs would/could catch on the leg notches and prevent the headrest from moving up and down and it should?
