Some restoration businesses like to replace an original dash with a repro simply because a plugin & play is much easier than making everything work and look good on an original dash. It was important to me to keep my dash as original as possible including my 1970’s era “Leapin Lena” tape-writer label, :)

Since the recent completion of our Chevelle's restoration the wife has not had a chance to drive it for one reason then another. However for the first time since the 1980’s she got behind the wheel and we went for a drive.

She took it out on the highway and went through the gears, looked at me with a smile on her face and said, "damn …this thing is fun to drive.” :grin2:

PIMA is still PIMA...It let me down when I wanted to use it in my son's wedding...starter ring gear teeth wore down. It won't hold intake manifold end seals, so the AFR heads needs venting and oil drain back issues corrected. Oil pan needs sent in to Moroso and modified because of new Lemon's header installation trapping my oil filter. I'm soooo tired of burnt plug wires and really poor sparkplug access, so I ordered Lemon's...okay Santa got them for me...

Don't worry...the wood block is under the pan. :)

Since I had my flywheel out, it was time to improve on the AFR venting issues:

I will end up doing what Steve did to his AFR heads:

Oil pan modification that I want Moroso to do. Look at Dave Bates' post #9:
