I just did this recently on my 72. It was kind of dry and brittle, so I was able to sharpen a putty knife on my grinding wheel and just scrape it off. On the heavier areas I used a heat gun to help loosen it. Hope this helps, Dennis
From another post I read that you're getting into the body work pretty heavy so you probably arent concerned with ruining your paint. Paint stripper will remove that glue instantly. That's how I removed the glue from mine.
maybe I got lucky, but when it came time to take the top off my 67 (it had never been touched) I just used a razor blade and scraped, I had the whole roof clean within an hour. Getting rid of that top is one of the best things I did!
