Gents... My alternator is currently mounted behind the bracket...bolt in front. I'm pretty sure this is incorrect and should be mounted from the front, bolt in back. From the side, the belt appears to lean back a bit, so it makes sense the alt goes in front. However, by moving that forward, it appears like the belt may (possibly) contact the backside of the power steering pulley / belt. Is this a common practice to have the alt mount from back of bracket if PS is installed, and forward if no PS ??..or is it just plain wrong. I'll probably move it and see,,,but how much clearance is acceptable between belts and obstructions ??

The alt is mounted to the front of the bracket, with the bolt comming in from the back side. There is pic in my showroom of my engine compartment showing the correct mounting of the alt.

Jim...are you saying your alt mounts from the back of the bracket ?? If so, do you find the belt appears to slant towards the engine ??? It's never jumped off the pulley,,,but it looks like it could, or, the belt may be wearing unevenly. I'm gonna try moving it in front to see if the belt clears the PS pulley. It would certainly line up better. Maybe my bracket is bent or incorrect ???
