I have a mechanical oil guage and it bounces/shakes

I have a bbc that i just put in the car.My oil guage stays in like one spot but seems like its shaking real fast it just dont sit at 60 its not going like 40-60 pounds it just seems to shake real rapid in one spot could there be air in the line or is the guage bad or dirt in the guage itself.

I would try cracking a connection and see if that helps, although usually when your engine is shut off you will get some bleed back and you see air in the lines... Make sure you keep a rag or two handy when you open the fitting if you choose to try it.
