I have a 67 SS. The car is an original big block 138. when I bought it someone had a 283 4 speed in it. I took out the 283 and put the original 396 back in. Ordered a big block bellcrank it wont fit. The pedal rod has to be pushed so far over toward the pass. side that it almost binds. The 283 bellcrank with offset seems to work fine but I'll have to relocate the oil pressure sender. When the 283 was in the car the driver side ball support for the bellcrank had to be moved foward a few inches. It was bolted and I removed this. I used the welded original.
My question is why wont the original BB z bar (without the offset) work!. I have seen lots of pics of 67 BB cars with the straight one. In fact thats the only one they sell for 67 BB.
Thanks

Thats the one that was on the 283 set up when I bought the car and the current one that works with the 396. That's why I think I have the wrong pushrod with not enough offset.
