I have Z51 Vette brakes on my 66 with 18" coys. I would like to know if 17" american racing steel wheels would fit over these brakes. Anyone know?

I have 18x8 Torque Thrust IIs and they touch!
I have to run 1/8th spacers to make the Joe distance clear.

I have not tried those brakes on an Abody but the Z51 Vettes came with 16 and 17 inch wheels depending on the year. Dont know if that helps.

The new C6 Z51 package uses 13.4" rotors... I highly doubt if any wheel smaller than 18" will fit.

the new modern z51 brakes definatly do not come with 16s.
Heck I don't know the last time I tuned a c4/c5/c6 with 16's.

I know its old. But they do in FACT fit my 17s on the front. Z51 340 mm rotors w 2 piston calipers fit with ease.. PLENTY of room.

13 year old thread, I bet the OP has figured out something by now!

That is interesting data point for others - but would help to list the model and specs of the wheel - backspacing.
I would think it's a pretty limited set of 17" wheels that would work with Z51 rotors, but you can also run the standard C6 rotor which is 305mm or 12" rotor with most 17" wheels so there are options available.

I have a 2007 c6 base model with the z51 brake package and it has 18 front wheel,I would think you would have to get backspacing right on because the rotors are pretty big and clearance in tight 3ven on the stock wheels.
It's my fun daily driver!
