On my way home from work in the Chevelle, I saw the backend of a car far ahead and thought it looked like something from the 80's. The closer I got I thought to myself, "No f-in way!" "It can't be a Eurosport."
In the 80's, I thought those were cool, especially the 2-door version black/silver.

Turned out to be just a rare today. It was a Lumina Z-34. Well cared for and loved by the owner. Dark Silver and Black, aftermarket rims/tires, appeared to be slightly lowered, new duals. We were next to each other for a few secs, just long enough to trade "thumbs-up".

A Lumina? I didn't know what it wuz, so fired-up DuckDuck go and became enlightened. Looks like that "well-used bar of Ivory soap'" styling concept fashionable for a while quite a few years ago. That styling has morphed into the current rage for creases, ridges, acute angles and generally unpleasant-to-view styling concepts currently. As always, just my $0.02.

Wow, getting old if we’re excited seeing a Z34. But it has been awhile. We traded our F-41 5 speed 1984 Cavalier for a 1989 Celebrity Eurosport, first car with AC and power windows. We were living high! Decent power from the 2.8 for the time, and handling was ok. Carried a young family on many trips with lots of room. Wonder if the eurosport wagons are now valuable?

The GM A bodies were very popular but most are gone now, I do see mail carriers still driving Luminas and A-Body GM sedans and wagons.

I had a Cutlass Ciera Cruiser with a 3.8L and it was a great car.

These are the cars of my high-school days. I graduated in 2001, so the Lumina Z34 and the Grand Prix GTP of the 90s were the popular cars of my generation.

Clean examples of these will have pretty good collector value in a few years.

My dad had a red 4-dr Lumina with the same engine, the DOHC 3.4 V6. The 4dr version wasn't called Z34 - think it was just a Eurosport edition with the 3.4. As stated above, I think the entire RF suspension had to be removed to replace the alternator, and the alternator had to be replaced often because it was located in a spot where it got extremely hot. Dad got lucky - the first time he had the alternator replaced, he had it done at the dealership while they were offering some type of warranty on the new alternator. I think he had it replaced under warranty a total of four additional times. The car did run OK for time - I'm thinking this was 1992-94?

I think this 3.4 DOHC engine was basically a standard pushrod V6 short block with new DOHC cylinder heads and a really crazy timing chain arrangement - that's my recollection anyway.

Luminas, Grand Ams, Grand Prixs, filled the parking lot of my high school and college. Never considered them to be much more than commuter cars

Back in that dat I had a '89 454 Suburban 2 wheel drive that went pretty darn good. We had some kid that had a Z34 and he was going to smoke my truck, nope didn't happen. Put a good hurt on that kid and his Z34.

Last week I saw a blacked out Buick from the 80's or 90's that looked like a small Grand National. It too was in excellent condition. My friend bought a brand new turbo Regal GS in the 90's and it was not one of those. It may have been the same body style as a Chevy Celebrity. Maybe a Lark?
