I bought a crane rev kit to witch he says take back you dont need but Iam keeping for peice of mind. lunati solid roller lifters T bar style.

Tomorrow night I will run this combo if you like into Dyno-Sim and then into Desktop Drag...It's not perfect (real world) but I will post the screens for you.

Are you sure about those cam specs? Most cams with that much duration have about .750+ lift. Now if it's 288/296 advertised lift you probably have more like 248/256 @ .050 and it would make more sense. You might have too much gear unless your running at eighth mile strips.

The cam is a custom gring from crane. crane says its 703in/660ex but the builder says its 660in/630ex yesterday he told me it was 660in/660ex
crane says 288/296 @.050
Builders says he will check it when he degrees the cam in I think its been reground since crane first did it but he insists it hasnt and that cranes specs are off.

I will hold off till you get this sorted out...
Thanks big red sorry I have desk top dyno 2000 but never can get it to give good numbers. I also have the comp cams thing. I have prosim drag demo but it wont let me change cars or waights.

As far as the cam goes until its installed and all I wont kno exact duration so will have to wait till its fixed up.

I'm gonna say 11.50 to 11.90s. I know that is a broad range but your #s are still unsure. I have a lot less gear and smaller tire but they should figure out to almost the same and I just got 11.48 out of mine last week.

Wow I was running 12's with a 400hp 468CI and a 3000 stall. I was hoping for mid 10 with the new motor.

Combo seems pretty close to my old combo except your cam has alot more duration, might hurt short times. Anyway at 3340lbs mine ran a best of 6.89 @ 97 mph. good luck

see my sig. the car ran the 12.73 @ 106mph at norwalk with no real track prep it was blue suade cruize lastyear and they dont prep the track for that. the old 466CI was a 8.8:1 comp with oval port heads 781's. hydrolic flattappet what they call braket cam 304/315 advertised duration 554/554 lift cam. B&M torquemaster 2800-3200 stall. A 600cfm holley vac sec marine carb and an open plane intake for squareport heads. super comp 1 7/8 headers. all this through 4 mufflers yes four, two glass packs followed by two flowmater shorties rated to 1000 hp race mufflers the pipes are 2 3/4 pipe and the tires and gears in my sig. this car ran consistent 12.80's @ 104mph at dragway 42 with minamul track prep.

I'm running right at .700 lift, turn 7k thru the traps and I dont have a rev kit. Why? I doubt you'll be making 220-250 passes a year, I dont even have a stud girdle ;) I've been doing this for 3 yrs now with no ill effects. The builder puts the stud girdle on, I take it off first time I lash the valves :D

yes builder said to take it back but I cant it was ebay purchase and its paid and shipped. my friend who runs big blocks in all his cars said I like to spend money on things I cant see. like this and internal balance. He also said I have a penstion to use over kill. he has stock gm parts save cam and aftermarket version of LS6 pistons in his everyday car and arp main and rod blots and head bolts. he sprays 125 to one his velle the everyday car. and 150 to his nova and its stock save cam, kb hyper flatops, and 2.19/1.88 valves in 107 cc square gm heads. both run 10.90 on spray. I am hoping I can out run him on motor and spray my way to 8's with a 200-300 shot so I went all forged, internal balance, rev kit and am looking for stud girdles later as iam running low on funds.
