A lot of the used baby and other clothes wind up in the trunks of the cars headed to the pick a parts here. I have scavenged a few new T shirts and work pants that way. They don't even remove personal effects, papers, and stuff like clothing, and bottles of fluids that could be sold. Often they even leave Batteries in the cars, and don't drain the fluids. Beats me how they get away with that, in this Day and Age. A west coast operation would get shut down and fined immediately. The east side of El Paso operation, does try to remove any loose tools, jacks, and bottles of fluids and resells at the check out area. More tightly run.
But yep I avoid yard sales and the flea markets for the most part here. The good stuff gets earmarked for the friends or it goes to Cuidad Juarez and what ever flea markets, and black markets they have down there. Kind of like how the "in the know" individuals get first shot at good tires and late model truck and SUV engines. They pull the LS engines and over drive transmissions as soon as the carcasses are placed.
Have participated in two clean outs and two moves in the last three years, and it has produced a lot of new inventory to sift, sort, and go through. One Guy had parted 30 plus cars at a shop he was selling. He gave away numerous pick up loads of Cutlass and other BOP stuff, I didn't even go after. Quite a few tires to dismount and dispose of, and scrap to sort and turn in.
