I just received a payment through paypal and just about flipped when I found they took almost $30 in fees! WTH!? Ugh, you try to be nice and quote EXACT prices and then companies like paypal slap fees on everything!

Just for future reference, do you guys that sell alot have the buyer cover these fees? Or does the price of the product just reflect the value plus possible fees?

I recently sold a few things on ebay and it`s a little different now than it was last time I sold stuff. Before you could charge a handling fee to cover the fees but you can`t anymore. Also you can now only use paypal where I use to take money orders too. Paypal use to be set up where a cetain type of account didn`t get charged fees but you couldn`t accept credit card payments. Now they take a portion out anyways. So you got your listing fees and final value fees with ebay and then the paypal fees. It`s almost not worth selling anything on there anymore and I probably won`t either.

I use to cover the 3% with a handling fee but you can`t do that anymore. Whats the trick with the way it`s set up now?
Sorry for the confusion I added by my statement... the fees I receive are for set prices for items I sell off my website and I communicate that 3% fee up front with the option to use Paypal.

I rarely sell anything on the auction sites.

Wow sending the money as a gift is a great loop hole. Can the sender use any payment method when doing this (IE credit card)

Thanks
