If you go to E-bay and type in completed results for L89 I'm pretty sure the guy got that exact engine for 4500. I was wondering the same thing on lowering the compression and not keeping it true to itself.

I mean literally, the same engine.

In this market...that motor isn't worth THAT price at all especially if he didn't build it to specs. Maybe $5-$7k...maybe.

When I get a motor I have it checked out and if it's good I sell it so the buyer can build it like he wants it. I would never build one and try to sell it.You'll never build it like the guy who purchases it would. IMO

I would not pay that much for that, the guy is NuTz:wacko: I bought this 427 for $2000 and it also came with a M22 trans and bell-housing. The motor was never fired but sure looked like crap but was all new on the inside even though it looked like crap.

I also bought this 427 motor for $ 10K just like you see it off the engine stand ready to go!

If I pay $20,000 for a motor it better have a chevelle wrapped around it.

Maybe he doesn't know what it's worth and is afraid to price too cheap,so he prices it waaay too high hoping to get offers and learn the value...just a thought. I've done that on ebay. set a high reserve just to see how high the bid goes to see what it is worth....you waste the listing fee but lets you get an idea what people will pay.
