I've been poking around to find a used Holley to tinker with since I'm considering getting away from my Edelbrock Performer 600 cfm. I've never worked on a Holley before but I've got my hands on a book and would like to start getting familiar with one and perhaps testing it out. A friend has one of these sitting in his garage. It was on his SBC-powered Camaro. The car got vandalized and he says it will need a throttle plate and linkage (?) but other than that it ran well and is just sitting there. It's the 750 cfm model and I think I could get it for a small amount of $

Is this more of a race unit and too much for me to jump into right away?

Hmmm...gotta find that out, Dave. He's gonna grab it tonight and give me the specifics on the numbers. I guess I was concerned about the "Ultra HP Series" in general. I didn't know if it was intended for race-only applications or not.

Imho, I'd pick up a good swap meet 750 cfm Holley, 3310-2 carb and rebuild it.

It will do fine on a 350 b/c it's got vacuum actuated secondaries so it can't over suck itself.

And even the old 600 cfm Holley 1850 vacuum secondary carb is OK!! Onna them should be down-right chea-, er, eh, inexpensive nowadays, imho. I have two of them out in the garage for later.
