I had to remove my windsheild this weekend (in my freshly painted 68) to install a couple of moulding clip screws and get rid of that silicone sealer (prefer Butyl Tape). Used the piano wire method, which worked so so, until I got caught up on the passenger side near the pillar
. Needless to say, this created a burr (gouge) along the edge of the glass (not a chip), which only affected the middle part of the edge. It's probably only 2-3 millimeters deep, but Im concerned that if I re-install, this will become a running crack. Is it possible to remedy this problem? Maybe polish it or have it recut? Thanks in advance....

I wouldn't worry about it, as long as you cant see it. I don't think it will crack.
the only thing you have to lose is the windsheild.
