Been using this computer with windows XP for 5-6 years. Never an issue and always updated automatically. Today I get a notification my windows isn't a valid copy WTF? You got to be kidding. Is there some virus possibly? I tried a restore to 2 days ago no go. Any ideas? This version of windows as far as I know is legit. TIA Pete

Thank Bill Gates and his greedy storm troopers. I just went through the same mess, went windows 7. It happens when they do a so called "update". Their searching without your knowledge or approval is the same as coming in your home and looking through everything you own when your gone. Stinking Nazi's. I am amazed someone hasn't sued for right to privacy. Going Apple/Mac soon.

This will help you feel better, Gates got hit in the face with a cream pie in 98. Should have been filled with concrete!

I preformed a search and it told me the VLK was blocked. WTF??? Anyway I have several old computers that haven't been used in a long time with keys listed on the side. I changed the key using a microsoft link I found, stumbled across it, and all is good now, I hope. I turned off automatic updates and will no longer be updating my windows XP. Killed my AVG though so now I'm going to try Avast. Seemed like AVG was becoming a resource hog. We'll see how Avast works. Pete

I tried shutting of automatic updates and allowed none until it slowed due to their spyware. So decided to allow them, bam did me in! It was their so called "service pack", computers slow without it installed. I'm really no a huge conspiracy freak but this is what it is, a conspiracy to keep us buying newer versions when we have ones that work fine. Like I said, where is our court and legal system to stop these bullies? All greedy Gates money can't buy an extra 5 minutes of life when his time comes.
