What should I use to seal the back window of my chevelle? The stuff that was in there when i purchased it pulled right out and now i need to replace it. I went to a profesional window place and they said urathane, but i can't find that anywhere. Does anyone know if that is even the right stuff i need and if so where do i buy it.

Urethane would be correct by todays professional standards... Try a bodyshop supply store.

Chris. The factory used butyl tape in those days. NPD offers it.

Modern version is urethane. An example is Sikaflex Tack Drive. Wear gloves or your hands will be very black for days.

Hi Chris,

I just installed the back window in my car a week ago. I bought the butul window install kit from a Nappa auto parts store. They also sell the butul sealer in a tube for a caulk gun. I don't if you have any Nappa stores near you, but I would think that other auto stores that sell autobody supplies would carry the butul. Another option would be any place that installs automotive glass.
