Hey all,

I got a new workbench for my birthday so I decided I needed a vise for it as well.

What do y'all think? I can't find too much info on it. First time I've encountered a vise that didn't unwind like normal, it has 'fast action' so you just turn it backwards a little then just pull the dynamic jaw open. Is this the way it's supposed to operate?

Got it for $30. I figure for its 3 1/2 jaws and 3 3/4 opening the $ is better spent on this old vise than a chinese knockoff from harbor freight.

That's a good deal, Joey. :thumbsup: I think the Wilton "bullet" vises are the most desirable, but any USA Wilton is good stuff. There's some info on vises here, if you have a couple weeks to read:

Glad to hear you think it's a good deal. Everything seems to be in proper working order. That garagejournal site is actually what prompted me to look for the wiltons on craigslist in the first place. and also search for vise instead of vice haha wound up with a lot more pertinent results that way!
