The headlamps on my 66 are acting wierd. When I turn on the lights the two outers come on. When I hit the dimmer floor switch, all 4 headlamps go off and the dash "highbeam" indicator comes on.

Any ideas where I should look first?

I would start by checking the lamps themselves. Each outer lamp has two filaments...one for the low beam and one for the high beam. The high beam filament could be burned out on each OR the lamp connector could be faulty...not making proper contact. The inner lamps have one filament ONLY. SO, if it's burned out, the lamp won't light at all. The fact that the indicator functions shows me that the switch is functioning normally.

there are two green wires coming off the dimmer switch one is about a 20 gauge wire that operates the high indicator
the other one is about 14 or 16 gauge (thicker) that one goes to bulkhead connector then to all four head lamps
somewhere between the dimmer switch and the headlamps this wire has either broke, corroded, or became disconnected
