Never heard of it  Sounds like a rap song or something... pretty sure that is "ebonics" for a fat ass.

Pretty cool song actually (for a country-song anyway)

Not trying to be racist here, but have you listened to what the black "artists" are singing? Other than songs by the band Sevendust, I can't think of one good song sung by any black people. (again, not trying to be racist... there's plenty of bad music by white people too!!!)

Yes a "Badonkadonk" is a big butt, usually on a black woman hence the "ebonic" terminology. I'm ok with Big and rich, they come up with some uncommon catchy themes for thier music. That's very marketable in this day and age I suppose. Hmmm Honky Tonk Badonkadonk. How about "Crack Whore Corale"? :D That would be a cool country song. It's keepin it real.

That is quite a bold and complicated statement in itself. How does one exactly classify a "good" song? Are there concrete elements that make a "good" song? Obviously, whether or not a song is good is based on the listener's opinion. Therefore, Music = Opinion. Indeed it is a free country, but most of the music that makes it onto the airwaves is governed by some unseen source that decides what exactly "good" music is. How free is that? Personally, I haven't listened to the radio for music in years due to a realization of that fact.
Also, I really don't know if the starter of this thread was in the right as far as the race issue goes. Badonkadonk is in fact an ebonics term, and I do find it odd in the sense that it is the title of a Country music song. One could also question the validity of white hip hop artists, but that is a topic for another conversation.

Also, I do listen to 'rap' or 'hip hop' music, but not the vulgar variety that is played all over the airwaves these days. Yes, in fact there exists hip hop music not played on the radio, most with purpose. But, getting back to no good songs by Black artists topic....there have been many. Jazz music? Coltrane, Rollins, Davis, etc. If in fact the song must be "sung" as you said, how about Marvin Gaye? Tina Turner perhaps? Jody Watley? I'm trying to stick with mainstream artists here, but I believe my point has been made. Not everyone likes their music (I don't really enjoy Tina Turner), but there is no doubt that she was very popular and a major influence on American culture. So, seriously, why must we bicker about a country song that references an ebonic or "black" term? I. Lewis Libby has just been indicted over an issue concerning the Plame Invesigation....what will happen with that next? That is what I am worried about.

...all sucks

Rap, Hip-Hop, Disco, Mo-town, Jazz, Blues... all horrible. Doesn't matter what color the singer is, if it fits any of those categories, it's not good. Yes, this is based on opinion, but I am right, everyone who disagrees is wrong ;)

Other than Sevendust, I cannot think of one black artist with good (IMO of course) music.

All of the good music came from the Brittish starting in the late 60s and evolved to heavy-metal now. :)

Just to prove this is not at all based on race, I also hate white rappers :D

Hey, I really don't know who big and rich are or what Badonkadonk meant, until now. I do know that not everyone here likes the same kind of music I do and that's ok. If it's ok to openly disrespect the President or Prime Minister or anyone else in the public eye I don't think 'big and rich' should be off limits. Lighten up, if you like them great, say so, others will agree but don't be offended if some don't.
